Today I had a workshop in Surrey at a conference called, The Literacy Continuum: The Changing Faces of Literacy. There were about 30 teachers, and we chatted about using movies, pictures and maps as a means to inspire children to write. I even had them making maps (with crayons!) themselves, and writing from that task. It was fun.

I also had the first of several book events planned with kc dyer, this one at Vancouver Kidsbooks. It was sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We had a modest turnout, but fun times were had by all with great conversation, coffee and chocolates. I’m looking forward to the rest of the events!
